In this lesson, we explore ADHD as a diagnosis and verifiable research on causes, impacts of pharmaceuticals, successful therapies, and considerations for relief and healing.

Objective

Be familiar with ADHD diagnosis criteria, effects of commonly prescribed drugs, and research on root causes and therapies that can support people experiencing focus issues or hyperactivity.

Description

Define ADHD. Explain the process and criteria of diagnosis. Discuss the severe flaws in ADHD diagnosis and the inevitable outcomes from such an unscientific process. Cite verifiable research on root causes of ADHD symptoms. Discuss pharmaceutical drugs prescribed for ADHD, and their effects. Provide five essential considerations regarding ADHD and behavioral issues generally, particularly the underlying factors shown to cause behavioral issues. List at least nine therapies to consider. Cite research on the impact of yoga with students diagnosed with attention or hyperactivity issues. Provide considerations for adapting and choosing breathing practices, poses, and mindfulness techniques for students with ADHD.
