Dear Colleague,
Welcome. I’m glad you found us. Scroll down for quick links to the previous year’s worth of newsletters.
If you’re interested, here’s a little backstory…
I vividly recall sending our first newsletter in 2012. Back then, what was available online for teachers and providers was mostly just sales and marketing to drive people to events. But I wanted the Internet to help me store and navigate what I was focused on: continuing education and professional support provided in a more organized, accessible way than my bookshelves and binders. Once I started my legacy project of moving material online, I began writing newsletters to share the way we could organize knowledge online into useful teaching tools.
It was quite exciting to see how much engagement each newsletter would prompt. At the time, there was less clutter online and each newsletter would get a lot of attention, prompting more site traffic, engagement, and memberships. Beginning in 2015, I increased the newsletter frequency from monthly to weekly in order to offer timely support for members and non-members alike. But the quantity of content in each email kept growing because I didn’t want to limit people to one subject but instead help them pick what they want and need. Jump ahead ten years, and not only were the newsletters getting too long, our entire online experience has dramatically changed and the amount of content we’re all exposed to is just wacky. So in 2025, in the midst of the chaos we face online, the next iteration of the newsletters unfolded: briefer posts focused on one subject only, sent more often, enabling people to pick and choose that way.
I welcome your thoughts on how our material works for you, and anything else we can do to support you.
Sincerely, Shelly
