In this lesson, we introduce the anatomy (structure) and physiology (functions and relationships) of the nervous system.
Have a foundational understanding of the anatomy and physiology of the nervous system.
Define the nervous system and its primary functions. Identify the components of the central nervous system (CNS) and peripheral nervous system (PNS). Distinguish between the somatic and autonomic nervous systems. Describe the roles of the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems. Define heart rate variability (HRV) and explain what it indicates.
