Gain a foundational understanding of the qualities of grief and ways in which yoga may support someone who is grieving.
Define grief. Describe qualities of the natural and multifaceted process of grief. Provide specific ways that we are advised to take care when supporting others who are grieving. It’s natural to want to avoid intense pain, but explain how accepting loss and fully grieving can be helpful. Provide examples of the physical repercussions of grief. Describe general ways in which yoga may support someone who is grieving. Note breathing practices and other yoga techniques that may support a person who is grieving. When feelings and emotions arise, provide a simple way to practice presence and allowing.
