Be familiar with gut issues and diseases including dysbiosis, reflux and heartburn, diarrhea and constipation, leaky gut, and autoimmune diseases that affect digestion (IBD, etc.).
Define “hyper” and “hypo” in the naming of conditions. Name seven anatomical areas related to categorizing digestive conditions. Define and discuss acid reflux and mild heartburn, celiac disease, Crohn’s disease, diarrhea and constipation, diverticulitis, gastroenteritis, GERD, hypochlorhydria, IBD, IBS, indigestion and abdominal bloating, leaky gut syndrome, SIBO and ulcerative colitis.
